Just spent the last week cutting up old solvent cans from the boat shop and japanning them to create my first batch of tin for that traditional look. As always, aside from the old lettering on the back, these look and feel as real as anything they would have had 150 years ago. It's a nice alternative to the ambrotypes I have been making, and of course won't shatter if you drop them. So far, I have only had the time to make one image, but it turned out great and I should have it up on the site soon. I am looking forward to making more ferrotypes in the near future.
